08/04/2012: First Tumblr Fair

I did not expect that I would come to this event, but Rem insisted that we (Mariano and I) to come with him. I thought there’s nothing to lose naman, and this is not your overrated kind of Tumblr meet-up so, we went. Plus, I might see some of my friends I’ve never seen for a quite while and also those people I’ve been following since 2009.
The weather was not so favorable but bearable, and that didn’t stop this much-awaited event to push through.

Ze Helga! ♛ Finally, I saw her multi-colored hair in person. The last time I saw her waaaay months before, it was still bubblegum pink.

Bryan, JV and Rai! Had a chat with these three, Rai introduced me his friends, we’ve been following each other’s blog for a some time now. It’s overwhelming to meet young people who are really passionate with photography.

Fortunately I overcome my hesitation, I was able to ask this talented couple for a snapshot. I first saw Chai’s early works through a highschool batchmate of mine who went in the same university with Chai. It was just early in 2011 that I started following her blog. I like her photography style, her use of colors and soft, gentle curves make her photographs convey a calm sense of refreshing beauty. And Aian, just check his Deviant Art and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
Funny though when I approached them…
Me: Pwedeng pa-picture?
Chai: *nods*
Aian: *moved away a little, perhaps he thought I was asking only for Chai*
Chai: *whacked Aian’s arm, tugged him close to her*
Aian & Chai: *then they pose*
Me: *awkward smile*
And Luisa! *u* Good thing I have so much self-control that I refrained from fan-girling. Haha. She’s perky and it’s not intimidating to approach her.
What I love most about her photography is: she makes an ordinary thing or scene appear whimsical. I like her edgy style and her works sometimes reminds me of some of Rogue’s editorials.
I’m just so happy I was able to take their pictures. Good thing I already outgrew the phase to take pictures with those people I admire. Otherwise, that must be really embarrassing. Haha.
And Jash!!! It was only yesterday that I finally met him again after his Dublin vacation. I missed this guy soooo much. I’m looking forward to work with you again!
He gave away free prints, their booth is next to Tin & Helga’s. I was kidding the whole time that I would like to get this blown-up photo. He told me that he’d give it to me if I buy it. LOL.
While he was away, I peek on their laptop to check how Jash post-process his shots. And I was like, “DAMMMN!” this is waaaay to many adjustment layers. @_@
Jash’s latest muse, Tiana. Poor girl, Jash left her alone in their booth several times so he can do on-the-spot photoshoots. She doesn’t seem to mind though.

Finally met Erika! I know you guys must be really tired of hearing/reading this from me, I’m not really into fashion but I really like to look at pretty clothes and appreciate their beauty. I’ve been following her shop since my Multiply days and meeting her in person is just surreal.

I’ve known their Tumbr blogs since 2009 (because of wordarts) but it was only this 2011 that I started following their pages. Then Camie tied her hair up and I was like, “Noooo! Huhu.” Good thing when I went to their booth…

While I was taking snapshots of the girls, someone tapped my shoulder and said, “pa-picture naman po ate, joke lang.” LOL! Nung pinipiktyuran ko naman, nagtakip ng mukha. Loko ka Clarence!
Finally met Lawrence in flesh! I’m really sorry, it takes a while for me to recognize the people around me, I have a terrible eyesight.
We met again, Rob! Too bad Iyay is not with you. :(
I really have poor social skills, I don’t know how to introduce myself. I just verify their name and then ask straight to take a picture of them. Awkward. Haha.

Better late than never. The gorgeous Kisty dropped by too to support her friends. She’s friendly, sweet and soft-spoken in person.
We talked for a few minutes as if we’ve known each other for a long time. Though that’s technically right because she’s one of the first blogs I followed back in 2009, when I was trying to make a theme of my own. :) Nevertheless, chatting like it wasn’t our first-time to meet each other was overwhelming.
And save the best for last!
The Ajose siblings, Chelsea and Tommy! I really admire these two because they’re very supportive of their ate Cha. They managed their ate’s booth and sell stuff like pros, LOL. Cha was curious when Chelsea told her that someone took a photo of them, she laughed when I told her it was me. I told her, “Baka hindi na kita abutan! Kaya sila na lang piniktyuran ko.” They set aside their camera-shyness for a moment just for their ate, awwww.
Cha, fresh from her duty. This girl never ceases to amaze me in regards to her self-discipline in balancing her studies and passion. And what’s more inspiring is that her whole family is supportive towards her non-Nursing activities e.g. fashion and modelling.
I missed you Cha! It was nice to see you again. I’m looking forward to work with you soon.
